Blending the world with the word in our BLENDED family life.
Have you ever been the mean girl? A bully?
I never was…..
Honestly, I am a bleeding heart. I cry during commercials, weep over the lost and broken.
Then I was divorced.
And my mean seed was planted. Blending my family…. helped it grow.
The opposite of Kindness: Bitter, insensitive, harsh, spiteful, inconsiderate, mean.
One of the most detrimental things I have done in my blended life…regarding marriage, my children, Mike’s children and even our ex-spouses is showing off my mean girl. Some days I really shine…
More times than I can think of I have let fear, jealousy, and lack of trust get in the way of growing my blended family closer together. Instead, it pushes us apart. The examples, endless at my house.
The apostle Paul wrote a letter to the Ephesians detailing clear instructions on what we are called to do as Christians regarding meanness and kindness.
Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
As a Christian, I am called to be more than I have chosen to be.
I have been called to be kind, tenderhearted and forgiving.
That means I have to forgive my ex-husband….
I have to be kind to my husband’s ex-wife….
I have to be tender-hearted to his children.
I am called to blend my family with OUT wrath, anger, slander, and malice.
For me …it is not always easy.
